Being human is a guesthouse
Every morning a new arrival

A joy, a depression, a moment of unease,
a flash of insight comes
as an unexpected visitor

Welcome them all and offer them hospitality!
Even if they are a crowd of sorrows
that sweep your house bare

Still, treat each guest with respect.
Perhaps they are clearing you out
to make room for delight

The dark thought, the shame, the malice
Meet them with a smile at the door
and invite them in

Be grateful for whoever comes
For each has been sent
as a guide from the unknown.

Rumi (1207–1273), philosopher and poet.

Sometimes life does not ask for an answer,
but for a place.

A place where nothing is expected of you.
Where silence is given room
and the rhythm of the days can slow down.

In my garden stands a little cottage,
among the trees and the quiet.

A place that simply exists
and can therefore be shared.

For anyone who wishes to withdraw for a while,
who is looking for peace
or simply needs to catch their breath.

A guesthouse,
for those who, along the way,
wish to stay a little while.

Welcome.
